Although Merx Property Management is relatively new on the scene as a service brand, the groundwork, experience and expertise that evolved into this organization began more than twenty years ago and has culminated into this new, comprehensive business approach to property management.

Branding Merx

In 2009, Luk Skalski approached his longtime friend, Mark Roby, saying, "We've developed a system for managing our own income properties that works very well. Together, we've designed an impressive and very efficient system, and it's so good that I think we should share it with others."

That moment planted the seed for what became 'Merx Property Management', the premier property management service provider for the London and surrounding areas.

One of the great limitations of traditional property management services was that providers offered standard service packages which clients were expected to fit into. Often, clients were required to pay for services they neither wanted or needed.

Our organization developed from a different philosophy altogether: we built our services based on our own needs. We discovered that our needs changed from one property to the next, and as a result, we had to learn how to be responsive to the requirements of each location, each property and every tenant.

The Service Test

We tested our service approach against four primary criteria:

  • Can Merx Property Management provide feasible service for clients who are commonly overlooked: ie, small income property owners,

  • Can we extend to our clients the same kind of philosophy that we used for ourselves; can we provide custom designed property management that's not only unique to each client but tailored to the needs of every property?

  • One of the greatest stengths of our team, and one of the biggest stresses for smaller income property investors, is risk management. Can we extend our risk management approaches to clients in a meaningful way, so that they may enjoy the kind of stress-free ownership that we enjoy?

  • Can we provide our services to clients at fair and competitive rates?

With 10 years experience as a professional real estate agent, and over 20 years experience in income property management, Mark has the practical knowledge to make solid investment decisions. Mark also applies M.A. and M.B.A. level expertise to his work on behalf of Merx clients.
